Steven S. Schwartz, D.D.S., M.M.Sc.

Dr. Steven Schwartz grew up in Port Washington, L.I. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in biology from SUNY Buffalo, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from SUNY at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine and completed his dental residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York.

Dr. Schwartz received his orthodontic training as a Research Fellow in Orthodontics at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he earned a Masters in Medical Science and his Certificate in Orthodontics from Harvard University. He recently completed a twenty eight year career as a lecturer and clinical instructor as Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at SUNY at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Schwartz met his wife Amy while at Harvard; besides spending wonderful times together with her, he enjoys playing music (guitar and drums) and hiking and mountain biking with his three sons.

Dr. Schwartz cares passionately about providing the most caring and up-to-date treatment. He continually attends educational programs involving the latest techniques in digital and conventional orthodontics.


Roger E. Sheehy, D.M.D.

Dr. Roger Sheehy earned his Bachelor’s degree at Fordham University and his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He completed specialty training at Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dental Medicine, and gained additional experience as a Captain in the United States Army Dental Corps.

Morris Scherr, D.D.S.

Dr. Morris Scherr opened an orthodontic specialty practice at our current location in Wantagh in 1965. He attended Brooklyn College for his undergraduate studies and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. He also completed specialty training and earned his Certificate in Orthodontics from the Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. He served in the United States Air Force Dental Corp, where he gained additional dental and orthodontic experience.

Dr. Scherr always believed in giving his patients all the care and respect they deserve. He insisted in performing all orthodontic treatment himself; no assistants or auxiliary personnel for orthodontic procedures.

Dr. Scherr retired from active practice in 2004. Our office continues with Dr. Scherr’s legacy as we continue the policy of “doctor only” treatment.
